Reeko likes human food. A lot. I’ve been trying to get pics of his begging, but he’s too fast. (And lately my camera’s been all, “I heard you like your cameraphone so I’m going to be all slow and laggy too!”)

This was the best I could do before threatening to trade my camera for a guitar that stays in tune. (I also threaten to trade my guitar for a speedlite every time it goes out of tune.)

So after all the hype and preparation—I downloaded Google Sky Map, a detailed moon phase app, and quickly relearned how to use my camera—the “supermoon” was finally upon us. At my secure, undisclosed location out in the sticks, I set up my tripod and did some test shots. I checked the aforementioned apps several times, to make sure I was actually pointed in the right direction and that a supermoon was actually rising, and then I got…

This.

It wasn’t until today, when I finally copied my pics over, and “enhanced” them, that I actually got to see this fabled supermoon.

“Problem, Illinois skywatchers?”

Not pictured: the FLIPPIN’ SWEET view I got five minutes later—the moon was right behind a cloud, giving the cloud’s edge an eerie silver glow. By the time I got my damn camera out, the moon was no longer hidden, and the picture I did get was blurry anyway.

O HAI I MADE YOU SOME DELICIOUS TOAST

His hand was made for holding weapons and not delicious toast*, so this didn’t work as well as I was hoping it would.

*Thanks to a co-worker for the miniature delicious toast. (More where that came from!)
